7^th Grade Literature - Summer Reading 2008-09

Required summer reading: Black Star, Bright Dawn by Scott O'Dell
Create a Type 3 writing with the following FCAs:
40% In what ways do you connect with your favorite character?
30% Explain the values your chosen character represents.
30% Describe your chosen character's role in the plot of the story.

(If you are new to SMA for the seventh grade, do not worry about Type 3 writing and FCAs, simply answer the questions in essay format)

Required summer reading: Two of the following:
Miracle on 49^th Street by Mike Lupica
Hatchett by Gary Paulsen
Star Girl by Jerry Spinelli
