- The Saxon Math program is a rigorous curriculum based on the theory of incremental learning. It combines problem solving and critical thinking with drill and practice.
- St. Mary's has implemented the John Collins Writing Program in all grades. This is a cross-curricular program designed to increase frequency and fluency in writing.

- St. Mary's provides explicit phonics instruction in grades K-3 which provides a solid foundation for more advanced reading skills.
- Study skills are stressed throughout the school with a weekly study skills class in grades 5&6 to assist students with the organization challenges of middle school.
- Open Circle is a social skills curriculum in grades K-4. It is a program intended to foster communication, responsibility, cooperation, respect and assertiveness. These skills are reinforced in grades 5-8 through our guidance and health curricula.

Although traditional in its emphasis on structure and accountability, St. Mary's strives to provide differentiated instruction which meets the needs of all learners. Teachers are engaged in ongoing professional development designed to provide students with a variety of instructional strategies and techniques to match their learning styles.
